Pencil drawing is the basic of all. At first we should take a pencil either HB or 2B and practice to make some basic shapes like square, rectangle, circle etc. After practicing it properly try to make still life, nature study etc. through pencils then try to make some portraits of cartoons and when you become 

perfect in that try to make face parts like eye, ear, nose, lips and hairs etc. After that try to make the Portrait of any actor or actress and try it till you become perfect in that then at last order your art tools and try to make it more realistic.
